Kellie Martin (born Kellie Marien) is an acclaimed American actress. She has starred in a variety of TV and film shows, such as "Christy" which is a story of a girl called Christy Huddleston. Other notable roles include her title character in the Hailey Dean Mystery series. Martin was born to a department store purchaser and kindergarten teacher started her career in acting when she was seven, when her aunt, who was a nanny to Michael Landon's children helped Martin to get her a character in the 1981's series "Father Murphy". She began acting professionally following her graduation from Yale University. This led to her being offered major parts in both the television as well as the film industry. Martin is, in addition to acting, she is also a talented photographer and dancer. As a mother to two kids, she's been named the national spokesperson for Lupus. She has actively promoted this disease ever since her younger sister passed away from the illness at age 19.
